Privacy Policy

Last updated 4 July 2026

This policy explains what Codka Shacabka collects, why, and the choices you have. We've kept it plain, no surprises.

Who we are

Codka Shacabka (“the people’s voice”) is a civic platform for Somaliland, where the public raises petitions and verified government offices ask for people’s views. In this policy, “we” means the team that operates the service. You can reach us at hello@cassivelle.com.

What we collect

  • Account: your name, email address, and password (stored securely as a hash by our authentication provider, never in plain text).
  • Profile: your region and an optional display name. Verified accounts also provide a short bio and links, which become public on approval.
  • Your content: petitions you start, petitions you sign, consultation responses, verification applications, and any reports you file.
  • Technical data: the basic request information needed to run and secure the service, such as your session and standard server logs.

Cookies

We use a single, httpOnly session cookie to keep you signed in. Your browser can’t read it, which helps protect your account. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How we use your information

  • Run the service, show petitions and consultations, and let you take part.
  • Keep accounts and content secure, and prevent abuse.
  • Moderate content that is reported or breaks our terms.
  • Understand overall usage so we can improve the product.

Your consultation responses are private

When a government office runs a consultation, individual responses are never shown to the public and there is no public score, only the total number of participants. If you respond anonymously, your identity is hidden even from the office that asked. This is by design, so you can say what you really think.

AI analysis

A government office can run an intelligence layer over the responses to its own consultation, which groups them into themes and drafts a summary. That analysis only ever receives response text and the question being asked, never names or email addresses, and anonymous responses stay anonymous throughout.

What’s public and what you control

Public petitions and their signature counts are visible to everyone, as are the names of people who chose to sign publicly. You decide each time whether to show your name or stay anonymous when you sign a petition or answer a consultation.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We rely on a small number of service providers to run the platform, hosting, image storage, email delivery, and the AI provider used for consultation analysis, and they process data only to provide those services to us.

Keeping your information, and your choices

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to run the service. You can update your profile at any time, withdraw a consultation response while it is open, and contact us at hello@cassivelle.com to access or delete your account.

Security

Sessions use httpOnly cookies, passwords are hashed, and traffic is served over HTTPS. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no online service can be perfectly secure.

Children

The service is not intended for anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, please contact us and we will remove it.

This is a beta service

Codka Shacabka is currently in beta. Features and this policy may change as the product develops; when they do, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
